Forrest Walker is an American documentary and street photographer known for his fearless, candid approach and dedication to capturing the uniqueness of humanity everywhere. Raised in a small coastal town in Oregon, his curiosity about the world grew into a lifelong passion for finding the extraordinary in everyday life. Forrest has fully committed himself to photography, sacrificing comfort and stability to immerse in diverse cultures and environments worldwide.
His Major City Project is the most expansive candid photography work ever completed—spanning 127 cities across 85 countries over a decade. Walking over 20 kilometers daily without fixers or support, Forrest ventured into both vibrant and overlooked areas, navigating danger, cultural barriers, and unknowns to document life as it unfolds.

His work is defined by photographing everyone and everywhere, no matter the challenge. He’s faced homelessness, physical danger, and extreme environments—all to reveal the beauty and value of every person and place. Projects like Populace, Cross-Country, and Urban Nomad explore themes of urbanization, age, and the human condition.

Recognized with over 50 international awards, including the 2023 LensCulture First Prize, Forrest’s work has been exhibited in 11 countries, published globally, and presented at festivals, universities, and workshops in over 20 countries.
