Biography

Guo Li was born in the autumn of 1988 and grew up in Beijing.
In 2011,She went to Italy to further her studies in photography art. She devoted herself to in-depth study at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma and eventually obtained a master's degree. The cultural accumulation of the two ancient civilizations - the Eastern essence of Beijing and the classical artistic spirit of Rome - interwove and collided in her creations, enabling her to gradually form a unique cross-cultural visual language.
Her works not only exhibit the meticulous pursuit of formal aesthetics in Italian photography, but also embody the poetic charm of Eastern art.
Whether it is ingeniously integrating the patterns of ethnic costumes into the portraits, or precisely controlling the emotional tone of the picture, finding a subtle balance point between Eastern and Western aesthetics.
It is through the use of natural light and shadow to create a spiritual and ethereal atmosphere reminiscent of a landscape painting, or by incorporating Chinese garden elements into the European classical composition. Regardless of the approach, her photographic language always embodies the admiration for the golden ratio during the Renaissance period, while also retaining the philosophical contemplation of Eastern aesthetics, resulting in a unique style.
A visual expression that combines classical charm with modernity.

Project

“Dress up with Flower” by Guo Li is a photographic series that explores the expressive interplay between portraiture and botanical imagery. The work blends delicate floral elements with fashion-inflected portraiture to reframe traditional concepts of beauty, identity and ornamentation within a contemporary visual language. Guo Li’s images reveal how flowers — as symbols of growth, fragility and cultural meaning — intersect with individual presence and self-presentation, creating a poetic dialogue between the natural and the human. Drawing on her cross-cultural perspective informed by her upbringing in Beijing and photography studies in Italy, the project emphasises harmony, texture and symbolism in each composition.
