Boutographies – New European Photography Festival - is an event dedicated to showcasing the work of emerging photographers from across Europe. Founded in 2001 and originally based in a single neighborhood, the event has since expanded to around ten exhibition spaces spread across the city and its metropolitan area. Supported by the City of Montpellier, the festival’s main exhibition is held at the Pavillon Populaire, one of the most prestigious venues in France dedicated to photographic art.
For the past 25 years, the festival has earned a strong reputation both nationally and internationally, thanks to its rigorous artistic vision, the technical quality of its exhibitions, and the excellence of its projections. The project led by the Boutographies team brings together the best of contemporary European photography, unites key figures in the photographic scene, and reaches a wide audience. In 2024, the festival welcomed 19,670 visitors.
