MFC Fest (Mostra de Fotografies de Carrer) is an independent street photography festival held in Barcelona. It was created with the aim of transforming the city into a meeting place for contemporary creation, the exchange of ideas, and the promotion of photographic culture. Through a program spread across different venues, the festival brings together exhibitions, workshops, talks, photowalks, book presentations, and participatory activities that make photography accessible to both photography enthusiasts and new audiences. MFC Fest views street photography as a tool for observing, interpreting, and narrating everyday reality, fostering dialogue among artists, institutions, and the public. One of the festival’s cornerstones is community building. MFC Fest promotes an open environment where emerging and established photographers can share their work, build connections, and create new opportunities for collaboration. Furthermore, it is committed to independent publishing and the dissemination of editorial projects as a way to expand the experience of the image and strengthen the photographic ecosystem. With a carefully crafted visual identity and an international focus, MFC Fest aims to establish itself as a leading platform for street photography in Southern Europe, promoting an accessible, diverse, and independent visual culture.
The festival was founded and is directed by Carlos Vidal and Rosa Oña, the founders of KMProductions, a cultural production company specializing in organizing events for photographers and filmmakers. Guided by a philosophy rooted in collaboration, creativity, and innovation, they promote projects that create new opportunities for the photography community and bring visual culture to an ever-wider audience.
