Chiara Bruni, an Italian photographer and author born in 1987, earned a Master's degree in Contemporary Theatre from La Sapienza University of Rome in 2015. She perceives a connection between photography and theatre, creating vibrant scenarios in which characters come to life, transforming her photographs into fantastical scenes. Chiara deepened her photographic skills through courses in stage photography, darkroom practice, and analogue printing at Officine Fotografiche in Rome between 2016 and 2017. Her work explores themes of identity in an intimate sphere. Influenced by dance and yoga practice, she places the body at the centre of her creations. She uses different techniques, from analogue and digital collage to embroidery on photographs and vintage postcards. Chiara draws inspiration from her childhood in a small village and now lives and works in Rome.
