Biography
Elena Corbu is a visual artist in love with simplicity. Choosing to be a photographer in the creative industry opened the door to many unique experiences. Elena chooses her projects out of a genuine connection with the people she works with. The sensorial approach she attributes to each photographic project keeps her creativity alive, and the challenges that come with it take her further to the heights of imagination. The abstract and the concrete are separated by such a fine line that viewers are invited into her inner world when they come into contact with her works. Her images have been published in a range of magazines, whilst her work has featured in various group and solo exhibitions, most recently in Bucharest, Cluj, London & Paris. Through her photography, she aims to create a space for dialogue that encourages viewers to reflect on their own narratives and the shared human experience.
Project
Life in the Countryside
Life in the countryside is a continuous return to the roots — an intimate photographic journal where people, nature, animals, and rural spaces meet. This series gathers fragments of a world I have carried with me since childhood, a world that remains vividly present in both memory and photography.
Its central theme is rural life in all its diversity — from everyday gestures and daily labor to trees, fields, leaves, animals, and the textures that define this universe.
Through my photographic practice, I seek to capture the dialogue between people and their environment, as well as that elusive atmosphere that resists words: the quiet, the rhythm of time, and the intimacy of village life.
My wish is to preserve a living and personal form of this world, inviting the viewer to feel beyond the image what I recognize as home.
Statement
My purpose is to use my art as a means to inspire, educate, and foster a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world we inhabit.
