Emily Swift is a darkroom artist based in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She began exploring the complexities of the darkroom at the age of 14, during her first year of secondary school, and has been fascinated by the medium ever since. She earned her degree in photography from Western Connecticut State University. In her studio practice, Emily merges experimental darkroom techniques with studio photography, working exclusively with film and manual printing processes, without resorting to digital manipulation. Alongside her artistic work, Emily is the owner of Darkslide Film Lab, a laboratory specialising in film developing and scanning, as well as traditional silver gelatin printing.
