Jevgenija Frolova
Latvia
Biography
Trained in classical music, she also plays in a chamber orchestra and enjoys spending time with horses. Seeking to express herself in the visual arts, she began analogue photography in 2020, captivated by its fascinating process. Her main interest lies in portraying women as mystical figures connected to nature and its natural beauty, reflecting her own journey of recovering feminine identity after a serious illness. Inspired by classical music, nature, fairy tales, and folklore, she uses multiple exposures, long exposures, and expired materials in her work. Having shown her work in group exhibitions such as Synergy and been recognised as a finalist for Best Young Photographer in Latvia in 2022, she continues studying at ISSP School in Riga to broaden her photographic perspective. Eager to join the Experimental Photo Festival community, she finds inspiration and joy in its celebration of diverse photographic techniques.
