Biography

Kit Martin is a visually curious artist who explores the interaction of time and place through photography, using natural elements such as sun and tide. She works with historical and digital photographic processes, collaborating with museums and highlighting overlooked aspects of nature. She shares her expertise in cyanotype, argyrotype, and pinhole photography as a tutor in art studies, encouraging artistic growth. Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries in Scotland and at international festivals such as CONTACT Photo Festival and Analogue Dreams. As a member of Shutterhub, her work has been presented globally. With a Master of Fine Arts, she collaborates on projects with Dundee Botanic Garden and the James Hutton Institute, exploring the connection between the Tay river ecosystem and soil microorganisms.
