Biography
Visual artist and experimental photographer specializing in solarigraphy, a technique at the core of her practice in dialogue with cyanotype and other unconventional analog processes such as chemigrams and pinhole photography. Through the construction of handmade cameras, often made from recycled materials, she investigates the relationship among light, time, chance, and environment. Her practice is sustained by an intuitive and experimental logic in which accident, prolonged exposure, and material transformation actively participate in image formation. She works from tactile and organic processes, understanding materials as active agents capable of acting, mutating, and producing images beyond the author's total control. Interested in photographic materiality and in unpredictability as a creative force, her work proposes an experience of slow time and an expansion of the limits of the photographic.
