Biography
Visual artist whose practice examines institutions of power through the language of photography, with a specific interest in the ongoing legacies of the American empire and in the use of visual technology as a tool of state control. His work employs historical and experimental analog photographic processes to generate critical dialogues among power, territory, and history. He is Assistant Professor of Photography at the University of South Florida. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally at institutions and festivals such as Aperture Foundation in New York, Paris Photo, the Benaki Museum in Athens, the Finnish Museum of Photography in Helsinki, and Photo Access in Canberra, among others. He has been published in leading specialized and general outlets, was selected for Photolucida Critical Mass 50, and was recognized as Emerging Talent by LensCulture. His first book, No Man’s Land: Views From a Surveillance State, was published by Daylight Books.
