Sofía Nercasseau (Santiago, 1990) is a visual artist and lecturer. She graduated from the School of Art at Universidad Finis Terrae and holds a Master’s degree in Contemporary Artistic Practices from the same university. She has undertaken residencies at Materia Gris (Bolivia), Molten Capital (Chile), Nara - Nido de Águila (Colombia), and L’Aquila Reale (Italy). Since 2012, she has carried out projects and exhibitions at Corporación Cultural Las Condes, Artespacio, MAC Quinta Normal, BAJ, CV Galería, Street Kabinet (Berlin), HBK (Braunschweig), Galería Franca, CEINA, 550, and Kastanien (Berlin). She teaches Photography, Images, and Colour at Universidad Finis Terrae, as well as the Interfaces Workshop at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. Her research is centred on the study of light and its perception, using different media in order to understand them.
