She was born in Russia to a Ukrainian family; both of her parents are from Ukraine, and her entire extended family still lives there. Much of her childhood was spent with her grandparents in Ukraine, shaping a deep personal connection to the country, which she continues to consider a second home.

Twenty-seven years ago, she moved to the Netherlands, where she has since built her life. The current situation is therefore emotionally challenging and constantly present in her thoughts. The ongoing conflict affects her profoundly and resonates in her everyday emotional landscape.

These experiences strongly influence the themes she explores in her work – vulnerability, fragility, fatigue and belonging. This state of mind finds its way into her artistic practice and forms an essential part of the project she is presenting for this call.
