El Masnou

LASAL was created to defend quality journalism and documentary photography in the face of a global wave of disinformation and authoritarianism. But above all, LASAL is a festival. It is a space that brings together photographers, journalists, students, documentarians, YouTubers and, most importantly, a broad audience interested in understanding the world around us. It is a newly born festival with the ambition of becoming a national and international reference.
For three days, the municipality of El Masnou will host talks, debates, book presentations, outdoor exhibitions and photographic screenings. Renowned photographers such as Sofía Moro, new investigative journalists emerging from social media such as Carles Tamayo, experienced correspondents like Mikel Ayestaran, humanitarian organisations that champion journalism such as Doctors Without Borders, and awards for professional photojournalists like the Zampa Prize and for students like the newly created Carles Costa Prize will all be part of the programme. LASAL is all of this and much more. Three days to enjoy outstanding content in exceptional venues such as the La Calàndria cinema or Ocata beach.
